Program Description:
Being selected to lead a project team is an honor. It’s also hard work! Even though projects are executed by a team of individuals, as the lead of a project, you wear many hats – project coordinator, activity scheduler, team facilitator, task master, meeting facilitator, resource gatherer, risk manager, conflict diffuser, communication reporter…it can be a little overwhelming!
Join this workshop to learn not only project management tools that can create the skeleton of structure every project needs. Also learn how to work with, guide, and effectively facilitate the interactions and accountability efforts of the people involved in carrying out the results. Walk away with greater confidence that your projects will indeed deliver the outcomes it was set out to achieve.
Program Objectives – Participants will learn to:
- Learn the 4 phases of managing a project
- Identify the key elements of a Project Charter
- Clarify project roles and responsibilities
- Explore necessary skills to facilitate effective meetings and project accountabilities
- Determine methods to keep the right people informed throughout your project
Consider taking this workshop if the following are mostly true for you:
- Other projects you’ve been a part of have felt a bit like corralling cats…and they haven’t hit the mark of what they were set out to do
- Projects seem to be never-ending…and keep growing bigger by the day
- You enjoy leading projects—it’s getting others to follow through on their assigned tasks that is the challenge
- Your projects often seem to meet unexpected road blocks, making progress difficult
- You want to be more organized in your efforts to lead the project team
- You’re never sure who to involve, who to keep informed, and how to communicate with the right people in the right way regarding the activities of your project
- Team meetings often get derailed by disruptive behaviors and you’re not sure how to get them back on track
- You want to feel good about a project that goes as planned and meet the goals it intended to deliver
