Target Audience:

Healthcare supervisors and managers, both experienced and new in their role; Individuals involved in interviewing new hires

Program Description:

With a limited candidate pool and shrinking workforce, it’s important now, more than ever, to hire right. Even if you’re filling similar positions frequently, the needs of the team and the role may change and the interview questions used to screen candidates need to change with it.

If you are new to interviewing or just need a refresher on how to establish a solid interview routine using behavior based interview techniques, join this workshop to learn more. Apply the process directly to your own unique situation while learning alongside others. Find out how to hire for the right fit!

Participants will learn to:

  1. Understand why behavior based questions lend more insight to determine the presence or absence of a skill
  2. Develop questions to screen for technical and performance skills
  3. Recognize topics to avoid in interviewing
  4. Plan a consistent structured interview process
  5. Conduct a behavior based interview

Consider taking this workshop if the following are mostly true for you:

  • You are new to interviewing and haven’t yet had training on that skill
  • You are hiring more individuals recently than normal
  • The last few individuals you’ve added to your team haven’t worked out well or have stayed only a short period of time
  • You haven’t had a chance to develop a consistent interview process
  • It’s been some time since you refreshed your interview techniques
  • You want to confirm your interview processes are legal
  • You are interested in hiring more than just a warm body – you want the right person
