Cella Janisch-Hartline

Cella Janisch-Hartline, RN, BSN, PCC Professional Certified Coach, is the Nursing Leadership Senior Manager for Rural WI Health Cooperative (RWHC). Cella brings her experience from over 40 years in various rural healthcare leadership positions to her work as she combines her passion for nursing, leadership, coaching and teaching. Named the 2018 Outstanding Educator through the National Rural Health Association, she engages healthcare participants across the country with her humorous, action-oriented and compassionate approach.

Target Audience:

All nurse disciplines and other direct line caregivers (i.e. respiratory care, CNAs, care technicians)

Program Description: 

The ability to use critical thinking at the bedside is essential to the delivery of exceptional patient care. Through the use of simulation activities, this workshop is designed to help the learner think through various case studies across the age span, while determining priorities of care, the reasoning behind the priorities through high level questioning/synthesizing techniques while reinforcing anatomy and physiology considerations to integrate into clinical practice in attempts to avoid failure to rescue outcomes.

Program Objectives: Participants will be able to:

  • Explore the definitions of critical thinking through high-level questioning techniques
  • Determine the priorities of care through high level thinking activities for various patient cases experiencing signs and symptoms of failure to rescue across the age continuum
  • Reinforce anatomy and physiology considerations to the various case scenarios
